Why Sumapaz

What makes our approach different.

Grounded in field reality

We work from what your land and team actually face, not from generic frameworks designed elsewhere.

Respect for your pace

Agricultural cycles set the rhythm. Our engagement options follow your season, not a standard corporate calendar.

Honest, direct conversation

We speak plainly about what we see — no sales pressure, no inflated projections, just considered observations.

Cooperative-friendly

We are comfortable working at the cooperative level and can include partner organisations where that adds value to your process.

Clear written outputs

Every engagement ends with a written summary you can use — no vague oral reports. What we agreed is on paper.

Colombia-specific context

Our advisory reflects the realities of Colombian agribusiness — local buyers, regional logistics, and the coffee value chain as it stands today.

Ready to take a clearer look at your operation?

A short conversation is usually enough to understand whether one of our services fits where you are. No obligation — just an honest exchange.

Common Questions

Things people ask before we begin.

Who are these services for?
Sumapaz works with individual growers, family operations, cooperatives, and small-to-mid agribusinesses in Colombia. Our services are particularly suited to coffee producers, but we also advise on other crops and rural value chains where we can offer a genuinely useful outside view.
Do you visit the farm in person?
For the Field Read service, an in-person visit is the usual approach and often the most useful one. The Season Companion and Value Chain Study can combine in-person and remote sessions depending on your location and preference. We discuss this during our first call.
How long before we can start?
We try to schedule an initial conversation within three to five working days of your enquiry. From there, most Field Read sessions take place within two weeks. Season Companion and Value Chain Study engagements are planned together once we understand your current cycle.
Are the prices fixed or do they vary by operation size?
The listed prices reflect what most engagements at that level involve. For cooperatives or larger operations with more complex needs, the scope and investment are discussed openly before any agreement is made. We do not add hidden costs.
What happens to the information we share?
Everything you share stays within the engagement. We do not share operational or financial details with third parties. Confidentiality is a basic condition of how we work, not something you need to negotiate separately.
Can I start with the Field Read and decide later?
Yes, and we often suggest that. A Field Read gives both of us a shared picture of the operation before committing to anything longer. Many clients choose a Season Companion or Value Chain Study after the first session — but there is no expectation of that.
